Yesterday officially rang in the 2020 Chinese New Year and the "year of the rat" offered up a collection worth celebrating. A couple we like here at Lace Kings feature an array of colors, textures, and shapes- just the way we like it. We'll break down our favorites here:
This dynamic shoe was made to be symbolic of longevity. Its intricate details are purposefully resemblant of traditional culinary tools used in China. It is complete with Chinese characters on the entire upper and a hint of denim accent on the toe.

This shoe's signature cat-eye is bound to "catch the eye" of many sneaker enthusiasts. Traditional Chinese currency was the inspiration for all the intricate embossing along the uppers (again printed in the right insole of each pair). The most noticeable detail of the shoe is the contrast of the mild ivory and light brown suede upper against the "digital-pink" rubber soles.

This shoe keeps its simplicity of the white Air Force 1's with some tasteful and colorful details limited to the Swoosh, heel, and insole. Some of the imagery is abstract but is beautifully designed to represent symbolic things in Chinese culture like lanterns and dragons. The lining and tongue tab sport a bold red color which really pulls it all together.
